Be a Mentor
MicroMentor is a nonprofit program that connects emerging entrepreneurs with volunteer business professionals in mentoring relationships. MicroMentor's mission is to help traditionally underserved entrepreneurs--women, minorities, recent immigrants, the poor, and the disabled--navigate the opportunities and challenges of growing a business.
How do I Become a Mentor?
  • Use the "Apply to Be a Mentor " button below to access the sign-up form. Enter information about your experience and expertise.
  • Mentors can actively search for an entrepreneur or review direct match requests received from entrepreneurs. Both entrepreneurs and mentors participate in the matching process to control their connections.
  • Once connected, relationships progress over email and telephone, typically the mentoring relationship lasts about three months with a committment of approximately six hours per month.
Why do Mentors Volunteer?

Erika Hovland has found that her volunteer work with MicroMentor has a tangible benefit: "I feel like I can make more of an impact, and it's more meaningful to me because it's based on a relationship and I can see the long-term results from what I'm doing."
