National Mentoring Month 2010

January is National Mentoring Month, a time when our nation spotlights the importance of mentors. Business mentoring is a powerful and rewarding way to offer struggling entreprenurs the knowledge and guidance they need to be successful. During National Mentoring Month, we'd like to thank our volunteer mentors for helping us have a tremendous impact on small businesses nationwide. And we encourage other professionals to serve as a small business mentor to an emerging entrepreneur. Join us in celebrating our many dedicated volunteer mentors, and celebrating the power of mentoring during National Mentoring Month!

In the Words of Our Mentors

When you serve as a mentor, you enrich your own life as much as you do the life of your mentee. Just take it from our mentors:

“I feel like I can make more of an impact, and it's more meaningful to me because it's based on a relationship and I can see the long-term results from what I'm doing.”     – Mentor Erika Hovland

“With MicroMentor you're using your strategic thinking skills and your work experience, so you can add more value than in other types of volunteering. You see the results. You can see the long-term impact.”     – Mentor Bill France

“It has been a tremendously uplifting, rewarding and educational experience for both of us.”     – Mentor Eric Jacobson

“I've definitely had people who have been super supportive to me over the years and I think that's part of it, wanting to do that for others.”     – Mentor Rachel Simeone
