What is the best way to find investors?

I have a website that's up and running with around 20 paying customers so far.

I only need a small amount of money ($500-$1000) to spend on improving the marketing and reaching more customers.

Are there any websites out there where you can find an investor for such a small amount of money?

You could try a website called "Kickstart", or alternatively, look for investors which could include friends or family.  The key is to offer a reasonable rate of return and keep things professional.

Since it's a small amount, crowdsourcing sounds like a good idea like Keith suggested. There are other sites too such as Indiegogo.

Alternatively, if your service is a monthly ordeal and your current client base is opting for monthly billing, maybe you can convince some of them to pay for the full year upfront at a slight discount to have the capital to move forward.

James,

We need considerably more information about your business to be able to answer that with any accuracy. What kind of website? What kind of marketing do you plan to do? What are your current user demographics? What is your website's current income stream? Projections? Etc.
