Q. I have created a survey targeted at college students, any ideas on how or where I can distribute this on the internet for free? I would like a minimal 30-50 responses.

Hi Ashkon,

I’m sure there are hundred and thousand of ways to get your survey out on the internet for free (or almost free). Lot of sites offer free domain, you can create your homepage.

Have you look into Google Local Business Center. You can setup your business listing on google, and it is free. Then direct the students to your survey in SurveyMoney (the basic is free).

Best of Luck,

You can distribute them free through social networking sites, such as Facebook or LinkedIn.  I would suggest a site, that does cost, but is very effective, and it only costs a minimum of $9, and it is www.surveymethods.com.  Blessings to you during your research.

Get in touch with a marketing professor at one of your local universities.  They understand your needs and might be willing to pass along the survey link to their classes.

Another opportunity is to talk with the career services office about getting an intern for the summer.  Job prospects are pretty weak at the moment so many students will volunteer to gain marketing experience.  If the student you hire is popular or active on-campus they will likely have upwards of 500 Facebook friends and no trouble getting responses to many surveys.

My final recomendation to you would be to send out a pilot survey to get responses from 10 people in your target market so that you can be sure that the survey results from the larger group will in fact usable for your business.

Best of luck to you!

Contact Nicholas Kristof, New York Times global columnist and author the the recently published book "Half the Sky."  Kristoff maintains a website and invites correspondence.

He and his family have a personal interest in Cambodia.  He's written about the sex trade and edcuation there.  Built a junior high school   Takes his family there to visit.

(I'd suggest you read the book before contacting him.  That could help you better frame your interest and plans in context of his interests.

Good luck!

Hi Ashkon,

If you already have a list of users to target you can create free surveys on surveymonkey.com or use google docs. They both have tools for you to analyze your results as they come in.
