How to Make the Most of Your Match
For Mentors:
- Be on “one time” to each meeting.
- Honor your word.
- Practice patience.
- Listen well: give plenty of room for your entrepreneur to speak.
- Ask lots of questions. Be fully informed before giving any answers.
- Remember that additional help is available – direct your entrepreneur to the MicroMentor Resources Page. Welcome them to search for an additional MicroMentor mentor in a targeted specialty that’s outside your area of expertise.
For Mentees
- Be on “one time” to each meeting.
- Honor your word.
- Practice patience.
- Be inquisitive – don’t be afraid to ask for clarification if you don’t understand something.
- Be prepared. Remember, your mentor is volunteering their time. You should make the most of it by coming to the meeting ready to move forward.
