Empower an entrepreneur to grow their business and improve their livelihood!

About the African Women's Entrepreneurship Program

AWEP enables African women entrepreneurs by providing them with the knowledge and network to access markets. That is why AWEP is working with MicroMentor to offer opportunities for mentorship to our membership. Now, you can volunteer your business expertise and background to help an African women entrepreneur grow her business.

Sign up to participate as a mentor and help entrepreneurs build their skills or improve their products or services to help them enter corporate supply chains. Your mentorship will help our women grow their businesses, improve their livelihoods, and contribute to spurring economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa.

Powered by MicroMentor

This program is made possible by MicroMentor, an online platform that connects entrepreneurs with business mentors. In addition to your group, there are thousands of others connecting in mentoring relationships.

How it works

1. Create a profile on MicroMentor

A complete profile is the first step to connecting with others. It lets people know who you are and why you are here. The quality of your profile greatly affects your impression on others you are trying to connect with.

2. Reach out to others in your group

Once your profile is complete, connecting with another user is as easy as messaging them from their profile. Personalize your messages so that their recipient feels relevant and appreciated.

3. Start mentoring!

Once you’ve connected, it’s time to set goals, expectations, and a schedule. You might meet in person over coffee, or you might talk on the phone or video chat. It’s up to you to decide how and how often you meet, as well as what you’ll work on together and what milestones you want to achieve.

How to connect with others in your community

In the people search, you will notice that other members of your organization may also be on MicroMentor. You will know if another user is in-network when their profile says "Member: African Women's Entrepreneurship Program" (see image for example)

If you would like to connect with somebody in the wider global MicroMentor community, there are thousands of others to choose from.
