How to work with me
What I can offer
A certified, experienced marketing communications writer and strategist, I want to help small businesses focus their messaging and fine-tune their marketing strategy.
My expectations for a successful mentoring relationship
I see mentorship as an opportunity to sharpen my digital marketing knowledge while giving back to the community. Successful mentorship is a form of partnership -- a free flow of ideas and guidance, in exchange for trust, openness and hard work.
While it will be my pleasure to help you reach your business goals, please note that I am not looking for opportunities to write or edit for free.
I have a tight schedule at times, so the mentee will have to be motivated and flexible. While it is not a dealbreaker if the mentee has another mentor(s), I would appreciate the notice up-front.
How entrepreneurs can prepare before we start
It is a good idea before meeting that you think through and answer the following as it will help me better understand your situation (and is a good exercise for you overall):
- Tell me what you do, how long you have done it, and why you do what you do
- Have a good handle of the market or industry of your business (e.g., your unique selling proposition, your main competitors and driving factors of the market)
- Describe your ideal customer (telling me “everyone possible who wants your product or service" won’t do!)
- Clearly articulate your goal, i.e., what exactly you want to achieve
- Be willing to tell me what worked and what didn’t work (and why)
