What I need help with

My background as an entrepreneur

My current challenges

I could most benefit from some mentoring regarding taxes because I am new to going through the process. Regarding bookkeeping, I would like to learn whether or not it is necessary for me to offer customer receipts. In terms of advertising and promotion, I have never really done any of either because I have always had enough business through word of mouth. However, I would like to bring in a little more business now and am eager to learn how to do so. I currently have a website and an Instagram and would like to learn how to more effectively use my Instagram account to reach more customers and maintain people's interest in my service.

About my venture

Honeycomb Henna Art Started 2019

I have owned a small henna tattoo business for the past 10 years (I began when I was 14) and operate almost exclusively in the summer at my local farmers market as well as for hire at private and public events. I am officially "starting" my business this season though by improving my record keeping practices, reviewing permitting specifications, and learning how to pay taxes now that I make enough to need to do so. Offering henna tattoos are a combination of my three favorite things: 1) art, 2) getting to know people, and 3) being outside. I believe that personal adornment in the form of ethereal artwork is an excellent way to celebrate the ethereal nature of all the beautiful things that surround us, and practice self-care. I use organic ingredients in order to provide the safest and most pleasant experience, and work with customers to make sure anyone can afford a tattoo. My goal is to improve my record keeping and correctly pay my taxes.
