Spent twenty years at all levels of employment with Franchisees of McDonald's Restaurants. Worked all positions in the restaurant, then all management ranks through to Director of Operations of a 12 store franchise, while also overseeing a management company and maintenance company attached to the operation.
Then spent twenty years as owner of the village store in Waits River, VT. Served all the needs of the community from livestock and maple sugaring operations to a full deli, grocery, beer and wine, and gasoline. A blend of both a modern convenience store and a traditional General Store. Took sales from $185,000 to $1.3 million in 5 years.
While owning the store I worked with the State's Retail Association on all aspects of business development and outreach. Also was recognized by the National Grocers' Association for my effective advocacy for small businesses at the local, state, and Federal levels regarding regulations and legislative matters.
