Smart searches via engines like Google are free and can generate surprisingly good cold call leads.

Smarter lead generation can be the (also free) warm leads via partners/allies who give you access to their members in exchange for access to yours or perhaps simply because they see your product as a valuable benefit for their members. Their defacto or implied endorsement is well worth the tradeoff of not having direct access to their databases.

Depends on the product or service being sold, but: - Sign-ups for discounts or a newsletter or whatever value you can provide electronically. - Posting on sites that are related to your product/service. - A blog of your own. - Write a book and give it away in exchange for a visitor's email address. - Search engine optimization. - Press release (but not all sites do this for free). - Give a discount for a referral.

Agree with the mentor who shared that it depends on the type of automation. Just note that automation on one end can mean additional process flows. Managing automation with identifying over automation will be important.

As a startup you need to limit your cost and maximize productivity which means you looking for software that you don't pay much and still gives you the flexibility you need to grow a business.

Based on the research carried out few days ago there's some automation software you can use for the growth of your business and lead management. The software allows you flexibility on their free trial plan forever.

ClickUp This is actually the top rated for me because the free trial can get you running as far as you needed to.

Sendgrid On the floor plan this can give you access to email management marketing capabilities with a little bit of automation.

HubSpot This also gives you flexibility I think their plan is a little bit cheaper and the trial can still give you an insight on what to expect
