Why have my website sales ground to a halt?

My partner and I own a small jewellery business. We design and make all our own products in limited editions of no more than 20 products.

Pre-pandemic we were stocked in all department stores in the main shopping district of Bangkok. During the pandemic the department stores closed during lockdown so we had to shift our focus to online selling.

We set up our online store, started focusing on social media marketing and were pretty successful, getting sales on a regular basis.

Now though, our online sales have completely stopped. Our site is still getting traffic, but hardly any sales. This change happened around the time that IOS changed its privacy settings. We are still running facebook ads and have sat through many calls with the facebook marketing helpers. I've been following all their advice, but still no sales. Also our organic reach on instagram has completely dropped. It's very disheartening and we really don't know what to do. Any help and adive would be much appreciated.

Kind regards A

Hello Alex, This often happens to brands. It's called stagnation, perhaps changing up your advertisement colors, adding new line of products, or possibly vetting alternative advertising methods such as digital billboards would be helpful in increasing sales.

Hi Alex. There are innumerable reasons why you are not selling now. Probably it is time for a new market research to see what is going on with the jewelry niche, post pandemic. Also, try to find out (with heat-mapping software) where the sale fails once the customer is interacting in your website. The information gathered with both steps would put you on the right track. If not, consider other approaches (SEO, website design, pricing, check site mobile version, loading time, etc). Later, don´t forget to update your business plan, especially its marketing plan.
