I think it’s important to take a proactive approach with an all-around business plan. This means that you should have a 1-3-5+ year business plan with a marketing strategy for growth. This way, you can incorporate your branding strategy into the mix. For example, most brands become household names because they have a long-term strategy that help towards that goal, and the brand itself must be in line to advance your strategy; vice versa. In other words, you can’t just have a name and expect it to stick. It must have some association and value to the name. Once you build enough goodwill then branding is just a matter of maintaining and exposure. Hope this helps.
