Hello! You should definitely speak with an insurance agent, find someone that you like. You need general liability insurance, inland marine (for your equipment), auto insurance (for any commercial vehicles in the company's name), property insurance (for any office or materials you keep at your office/workshop, etc.) The most important thing I will point out to you that you need to have your subcontractors enter into a contract with you. If you are hiring ANYONE in any way, you could be responsible for their property damage, construction defects or injury to a person if you do not have a contract with them stating that they will carry proper insurance and hold you harmless for their losses they cause (losses= property damage, injuries, etc.) If they don't have insurance, you'd be paying everything on their behalf. It is important because even if your insurance covers a claim, your annual premium/insurance cost would go up and you would use up your insurance limits towards someone else's mistake. Hope this helps!
