I have worked with several NGO's of the type you are speaking. Those that succeed view it as a business enterprise and develop it on that basis. The fact that its charter, mission, board of directors and operating practices are non-profit does not detract from the fact that careful market and business planning are required.

There are many misconceptions regarding grants, contributions, donations, government support and other sources of revenue. Much of this is due to hype on the web, in many cases from dubious sources. To succeed an NGO must evolve a niche, a marketing plan and compete as a business with others who are pursuing the same resources.

COVID-19 pandemic relief and protest unrest, combined with communications technology, has focused much attention on the necessary social improvements underpinning the career training improvement/education venues and you are pursuing. The task at hand for you is one of niche development and planning. My best wishes for success. I admire your objectives.
