You are your social media manager.

In my view you must move beyond the Facebook/Instagram domain and network in several directions, with a blog or a web site as a hub that spawns useful information, dialogue and sales through values based marketing, profiling prospective clients and networking with them.

Much of this effort can be achieved through use of free utilities on the web.

For further details on how to achieve the above, please visit the following articles on the FREE web site I maintain as an extension of my volunteer work here at MicroMentor:

The www is unfortunately a 'pay to play' game. This is not bad, or good, it just "is what it is." The sooner you recognize this, the better off you will be. Now by 'recognize' we do not simply mean to agree that this is so. The word reCOGnition is important here. We must be fully COGnizant of the way this reality presents itself. This helps us to exploit the situation and to fully optimize the strategy we develop to engage the medium.

What you are really asking is, "I am looking for paying customers who will love what I have to offer." This must be what you believe to be THE question at the heart of what is driving you, Lesly. Some secrets I have learned along the way that may or may not be of value to you. First, you must become the expert at whatever you are selling. Initially, you are not attempting so much to be the expert to only your intended audience - your potential legal customer - but also to the 'algorithmic' profiling and spidering that Google utilizes.

This is not impossible to do, but it is challenging. You need to put your credentials out there on your website, meta tag them appropriately, and write FAQ content that the search engine will recognize as THE BEST content that your type of client is searching for. Resist the urge to copy what others have done in this regard. Be yourself. Let your own passion come through in your own responses, and keep the key words in your FAQ answers RICH and DEEP. The Google spider will crawl all over your content, and it will be impossible to ignore. Then the business contact queries will follow. You WILL have to use Google Adwords, but you will need to do so both sparingly and tactically. This utilization of Google Adwords is what I like to call "teasing the spider." That is what I call it. And the spider will come, as it can't help but respond to paid content. When it comes, have a trap set for it. That trap is your rich, target-word-specific content, embedded in real FAQs that YOU have written for your intended audience. Hypnotize that spider and you are the one who is now in control.

If you must use social media, realize that it is for large-scale, electro-social purposes, and will only marginally complement what you do at best, and is potentially harmful to your best efforts at worst. Lots of $$$$ business deals are begun and/or closed on a golf course, but this will NEVER be the case on FB. Towards that end, FB is not truly 'social,' nor is any social media. They are endo-gratifying and highly narcissistic. And these qualities are not inherently bad. They just are. So exploit them, just like FB does. The very term social media is an oxymoron. Media implies 'mass communication' and 'social' connotes needing meaningful, real companionship. Who really desires mass (i.e. 'impersonal') companionship, or thinks of mass anything as in any way genuinely personally gratifying?

Think of social media like window dressing or window treatments in your custom-built house or condo. You have to design and build the best house first, and select the best views before construction so that the windows complement what you intend to view in the surroundings you have chosen, in advance. After all of that, then you select your window treatment. That is what social media is. That is all it is or ever will be.

Great Entry John: The www is still good. It all depends upon how you market it, SEO/SMO, etc. Its a whole other world out there and I love helping small business owners and entrepreneurs navigate their way to success. Not sure where that mass thing comes from yet I totally agree. I have the answers and any business owner or entrepreneurs can message me and receive assistance via email.

We cannot try to steer a business owner completely away from what they want. All we can do it make the best of the idea, and if it does not perform well, go back to the drawing board. The good news about all of this is that, when a consultant is proven, it tends to remove most of the doubt. That is the sweet spot, where greatness begins!

Media = "the main means of MASS communication (broadcasting, publishing, and the Internet) regarded collectively."

The www is neither inherently good or bad, as these are subjective terms. The www is merely a tool, a catalyst.

The most challenging thing for any business owner is to master "steering" (navigating) directly toward what the customer needs or wants, and implement the most efficient and effective way of influencing that customer to have confidence in their product or service.

Doubt is the only a seed that can be nurtured into confidence.

Just would like to join this thread since I came across relevant research recently. I absolutely agree that a business owner should manage business social media profiles at least for the first time to find and understand their audience. So, the research highlights - any organization might face serious problems that should be solved by effective customer relationship management (the source is here: https://ivypanda.com/essays/significance-of-social-media-in-business-operations). Nowadays, we can implement it via Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms. And when you know your customers, their needs and pains, you can teach other persons to work with your social networks in the best way.

From observation, Facebook, Instagram, twitter are all independent users. Very few users make use of all these platforms at the same time. So you can try to master the platforms and establish your presence on each to begin with.
