How to reduce the annoying customers who only waste my time without the intent of doing business ?They require a free sketch/idea before they can decide .

I work in the landscape architecture design field . Customers usually call to say they have a property / area they need to design ...to give an estimate or an offer , this requires visiting the site , having a couple of meetings with the client , maybe some pictures of the site and then to provide a sketch ..! this is time consuming without any charge because the customer is not willing to pay before he can see the value of the service i may provide to his property / area. So the company profile and the previous experience is not convincing enough for most of the customers to pay before they can see the value for their own project.

Simply by having a clear process on what is given free (as part of presales) and what is not given for free. Easy said but to do you need to extend the process so your client shows that he is series.

If a sketch or specs or something that you think it will waste time then you have to have what is called costless zero process that helps you also evaluate the pipeline and the CRM under investigation.

1- All you clients as long as they are out of the circle of having or looking for a product or a service they are prospects, simple curious people with ZERO potential to purchase anything

2- If they move into your circle and require a proof of concept or a sample then you should have a kind of a catalogue presenting most of the item or designs you have or close to, and they can see this free.

3- If they like one of the design but need modification then (cost of modification applies) and you can tell them that this cost will be repaid when they have a contract

4- If they require any --- any other thing and under any other pressure or seduction that they buy or whatever, there should be contract with specs and nonpayment, if they do not like the work part of the down payment will be deducted

This is only a quick process wrote quickly for you, you should be yours as long as (no one) waste your time or money - only you can spend on reusable items for marketing

Hope this helps Hassan

Hi Shadi. Technology can be handy. You may take some pictures of the sites and then provide a mini presentation to your customers using a software for landscape design. Show there only related generic solutions, trying to previously spend a very limited time on that. From that moment you should charge, if - for example - a customer likes an idea and wants: a copy of your samples, further graphic development, a specific solution, calculations, variants, estimates, etc. Have success.

To minimize annoying customers, you might consider using time calculator to estimate the time and effort required to provide a free service before the customer decides. This can help you manage your time and resources more effectively.
