I am a disabled father with too little income to take care of my children and too many entrepreneurial skills not to earn for their well being. How can I best increase my income without losing benefits before start-up occurs?

My health issues will not permit me to be a reliable employee (especially underpaid) for others. However given control of task management I can make my dream of self-employment a success.

Is there someone willing to aid me in bootstrapping my business?

I can offer advise on low cost starting up and do-it-yourself advertising, bookkeeping, and networking.....if that would help.

Dear Ken, I've been pretty sick and am just now getting back into things again. What do you think of doing childcare in your own home????

Ken, earn the money and then deduct all the business expenses paid while earning that money. It is called recording your income on a CASH BASIS and showing the ACTUAL profit as NET INCOME. The NET INCOME is all they really count when it comes down to taxes. The government wants to see you succeed not be bored to death. Simply put ... report the NET PROFIT as Income.

I started my first company while unemployed. The lady at the unemployment office told me to report my NET profit as it was earned each week. Deduct your gas, your advertising, all expenses that are business expenses only FROM whatever you GET PAID when you get paid. Report the net income each week to unemployment. Also available is usually a gov't grant for additional education to help you learn as you earn. College classes like Business Management, Accounting, Marketing, and Business Law are often covered by grants to the challenged.
