The network was born with the intention of helping entrepreneurs and supporting the small business sector in Mexico through the development of channels of cooperation between the United States and Mexico.
This group is for Americans in general, Mexican American or Mexicans living in the US interested in volunteering their time and professional expertise to act as mentors to Mexican entrepreneurs, with the intention of strengthening businesses together, and contributing to Mexican communities.
This program is made possible by MicroMentor, an online platform that connects entrepreneurs with business mentors. In addition to your group, there are thousands of others connecting in mentoring relationships.
A complete profile is the first step to connecting with others. It lets people know who you are and why you are here. The quality of your profile greatly affects your impression on others you are trying to connect with.
Once your profile is complete, connecting with another user is as easy as messaging them from their profile. Personalize your messages so that their recipient feels relevant and appreciated.
Once you’ve connected, it’s time to set goals, expectations, and a schedule. You might meet in person over coffee, or you might talk on the phone or video chat. It’s up to you to decide how and how often you meet, as well as what you’ll work on together and what milestones you want to achieve.
In the people search, you will notice that other members of your organization may also be on MicroMentor. You will know if another user is in-network when their profile says "Member: U.S.-Mexico Foundation" (see image for example)
If you would like to connect with somebody in the wider global MicroMentor community, there are thousands of others to choose from.
